Grateful in Gaza’s Grief

I've been finding it difficult to share anything lately, feeling really troubled by the suffering of people in Palestine.

As I watched what's happening there, something deep inside me stirred, and I felt compelled to share these thoughts with you.

I'm a parent, and like all parents, I worry about my kids.

We usually imagine the worst things, but they rarely happen. But in Gaza, parents are facing those fears for real, and everyone can see it.

When I saw pictures and videos of what's happening to the Palestinians, it hit me hard. It made me think, "What if this was happening to my kids?" I can't find the right words to describe how I feel about what I'm seeing.

It's one thing to know people suffer, but it's another to see people inflict unimaginable psychological, emotional and physical pain on each other like this while the whole world witnesses.

What really got to me was how the Palestinians are dealing with all this pain. They're not just getting through it; they're showing a lot of faith, thankfulness, and trust in God, even when faced with unimaginable suffering.

We all read about holy personalities and how their faith got stronger when life was tough. And I would fall into the trap of thinking that kind of response was just for enlightened beings, not regular folks like me.

But seeing these videos from Palestine changed my mind. These people are going through the worst - losing their families, homes, everything - in the most terrible ways, but they still keep their faith.

I saw one video that really touched me.

I wanted to share how it made me feel, so I made a comic about it, which you can see below. The art is by Charbak.

This comic is more than just drawings. It's about how even when life is at its worst, faith can be really strong.

This whole thing has taught me something important. When we face really hard times, having faith can give us strength and help us be grateful and trust in a Divine Plan.

The people in Palestine, with their strong faith, are showing us how to do that.

This comic is a reminder to me that faith and gratitude can be a powerful thing, even in the darkest times.
