Parents

I’m really lucky—under one roof, I get to live with both my parents and my kids.

It's like experiencing life through a dual lens.

With my kids, each new thing they learn or experience reminds me what it’s like to look at life with a fresh pair of eyes and find joys in simple things.

Living with my parents I get to learn from their life experiences that gives me glimpses into the future. Their wisdom are lessons that become more valuable to me every day.

It's quite common for parents to live with their young children, guiding and supporting them through their early years.

However, it's not always the norm for adult children to live with their parents and witness their wisdom up close.

Their stories and experiences offer me life lessons that might otherwise come from pain and hardship, but instead, I’m fortunate to learn them in a gentle, nurturing way.

It's also given me a deeper appreciation for what it means to be a parent.

This Sufi Comic is in honor of parents, especially mothers, who give of themselves without expecting much in return.

Art by Charbak Dipta

"And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and that you be kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honor." (Quran 17:23)

If you're as fortunate as I am to share your life with your parents, take a moment to express your love and gratitude.

Let them know how much they mean to you.

As to a parent, a child's gratitude is priceless.
